The Soul of MÊHA
Diane Tevoedjre is the vibrant personality behind MÊHA.
Her rich French accent is evidence of her origins in Benin and Mali, from where her worldwide travels to interesting places began as a diplomat's daughter.
Diane has lived in the US, Italy, Germany, Belgium, France, the Far East, Central and West Africa and Switzerland. After studying in Geneva, Dallas and Paris, she launched her professional career as an art dealer and interior designer. A spell living in Bangkok inspired a lifetime interest in oriental design.
She went on to open an interior design studio in Côte d’Ivoire before relocating to Johannesburg, South Africa in 2002 and founding MÊHA a few years later.
Her signature style is a mélange of African, European and Asian cultural influences resulting in an exotic synergy. Her extensive travels and diverse cultural experiences, impart an eclectic harmony to her work.
“When I decorate a home, it’s less about the design styles but more about the individual. I gather ideas and pieces from my travels in Europe and Africa whilst allowing the chemistry between both traditions to later reflect on the environment given to me. I could say I have an eclectic style that aims to merge the furniture and pieces to tell a story and make the interior space feel like a home where you can feel at ease.”

MÊHA was established in 2004 by French-Beninese Designer, Diane Tevoedjre, whose exposure to interior design trends in Europe was a major influence in her own interpretation of style and practicality.
The international design studio, based in Johannesburg, is known for interiors providing a sensory experience with a blend of contemporary style, taste, and culture that accentuates the environment.
